iCommunify Terms and Conditions

Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to iCommunify! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and iCommunify Corp ("iCommunify," "we," or "us") governing your use of the iCommunify mobile and web applications and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). iCommunify is an all-in-one platform for college students to discover and join campus clubs, manage events, and find internship/job opportunities through a dedicated job board. By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy (described below). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

Student Status & Email Verification: The Service is intended for college/university students and related campus organization leaders. Students must sign up with a valid school-issued email address (e.g., .edu) to verify their affiliation with an educational institution.

Employers: Employers and recruiters may also use iCommunify to post job opportunities and connect with students. Employers must use a company email address matching their organization's domain.

Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to use iCommunify, and iCommunify is not intended for children under 13. If you are under the age of 18 (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you affirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to register or collect their personal data.

Authority: You represent that all information you provide during registration is accurate and that you have the right and capacity to enter into these Terms. You may not use the Service if you have been removed or banned by iCommunify.

Account Registration and Security

To access the Service's features, you will need to create an account. You agree to provide truthful, current information (such as your name and school email) when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or security breach. iCommunify is not liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with the above requirements. We may require periodic verification of your email or student status to continue using the Service.

Service Usage and Features

Clubs and Events: iCommunify enables you to join existing student clubs or create your own, and to organize or RSVP to club events on campus. Club leaders (e-board members) can manage club membership, create event listings, track attendance, and send announcements through the Service. Members can receive event invitations (with the option to add events to their calendar) and notifications, making it easy to stay engaged in campus activities.

Job Board and Applications: The Service also includes iCommunify Jobs, a job and internship board integrated into the platform. Students can browse opportunities posted by employers (including campus recruiters or companies targeting your school) and apply using their iCommunify profile. Your profile may include information like your major, resume (CV), LinkedIn profile, skills, etc., which allows employers to discover candidates based on these details. Important: iCommunify is not an employer or staffing service; we simply facilitate connections between students and third-party employers. We do not guarantee that applying for a job will result in an interview or employment. Any arrangements (such as interviews, offers, or employment terms) are solely between you and the employer.

Pricing: Core features for students are provided free of charge. Employers may subscribe to paid packages to access additional features such as job posting credits, talent search, and messaging capabilities. Pricing and features may change; we will notify users of material changes. If we introduce new paid features for students, we will update these Terms accordingly.

Updates and Features: We may add, change, or remove features in the Service to improve your experience. The app may require periodic updates (which will be communicated via app stores or in-app notifications). Continued use after an update signifies your agreement to any changes in functionality or terms applicable to new features.

User-Generated Content

User Content Definition: iCommunify allows users to create, post, and share content, including but not limited to club profiles, event descriptions and details, announcements, comments or messages, and media such as photos or videos (e.g., club introduction videos or event photos). All such content that users (including club leaders, members, or employers posting jobs) submit or upload to the Service is considered "User Content."

Ownership and License: You retain any ownership rights you have in the User Content you create. However, by submitting User Content on iCommunify, you grant iCommunify a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, publish, transmit, display, and distribute your content within the Service and associated promotional materials or social media, for the purpose of operating and providing the Service. This license allows us to display your content to other users (for example, showing your club's events to its members, or showing your profile to an employer when you apply to a job) and to adapt it as needed for technical display (e.g., resizing an image or converting a video for compatibility). This license ends when you remove or delete your User Content from the Service, except to the extent others have already viewed, shared, or stored it, or it has been backed up on our servers (we will remove it in the normal course of operations upon deletion).

Your Responsibilities for Content: You are solely responsible for any User Content you post. Do not post anything you do not have permission or rights to share. By uploading or posting content, you represent that you have the necessary rights (e.g., you took the photo or have consent from the creator) and that the content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws. iCommunify does not pre-screen content before it is posted, and we do not endorse or approve any content provided by users. We are not liable for User Content, and the views expressed in User Content do not reflect our own.

Prohibited Content and Conduct

You agree not to use iCommunify to post or transmit any content, or engage in any behavior, that:

  • Violates Laws or Rights: Is unlawful, fraudulent, libelous/defamatory, or infringes on anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights (for example, posting copyrighted material you don't own, or someone's personal data without consent). Content that is defamatory, slanderous, or otherwise unlawful is strictly prohibited.
  • Harassing or Hateful: Bullies, harasses, or threatens others, or is vulgar, obscene, or pornographic. Hate speech or content that discriminates or promotes hatred based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic is not allowed. This includes slurs, extremist ideology, or advocacy of violence against any group.
  • Offensive or Harmful: Contains excessive profanity or graphic violence, or is otherwise offensive and not appropriate for a campus community environment. Content that is extremely graphic, sexually explicit, or otherwise disturbing is forbidden.
  • False Information or Spam: Intentionally spreads false or misleading information. You should not impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation. Do not use the Service to spam, phish, or conduct pyramid schemes, contests, or promotions that are not authorized by us.
  • Security Violations: Introduces viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt or hijack the operation of the Service or users' devices. You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts, nor engage in any activity that attacks or disrupts the Service's security or integrity (such as hacking, denial of service attacks, or data mining).
  • Commercial or Illegal Activities: You may not use iCommunify for unauthorized commercial purposes. For example, you cannot resell our services or data, run advertising or promotions without permission, or solicit money from other users (aside from legitimate club dues or event fees managed outside the platform). Also, do not use the Service to facilitate any illegal transactions (such as sale of drugs or weapons) or gambling, or to share content that promotes dangerous illegal activities.

We reserve the right to define what content or conduct is objectionable or prohibited, consistent with the principles above. If you engage in any of the above, it is a material breach of these Terms and may result in content removal or account termination (with or without notice).

Content Monitoring and Enforcement

Monitoring: iCommunify may (but is not obligated to) monitor user activity and content on the Service. We strive to keep the platform safe and welcoming. We use a combination of automated tools and manual reviews to filter or flag objectionable content, and we rely on our community of users to report issues as well. However, you acknowledge that you may be exposed to content from other users that violates our rules or is otherwise inappropriate; iCommunify is not responsible for content that it has not created. Use caution and common sense when interacting on the platform.

Reporting Mechanism: If you encounter content or behavior that you believe violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, please report it to us. Reporting tools may be available in-app (e.g., a "Report" option on events or posts), or you can email us at welcome@icommunify.com. We take such reports seriously and will review and address them as appropriate.

Our Rights: We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove or disable any User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem objectionable for any reason. We can do this at any time without liability to you. We also may suspend or terminate accounts that engage in repeated or egregious violations. iCommunify may access, preserve, or disclose information from your account (including your content and communications) if we are legally required to do so or if we have a good faith belief that such access is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with legal process, (b) enforce these Terms, (c) respond to user support requests, or (d) protect the rights, property, or safety of iCommunify, its users, or the public.

User Interactions and Blocking: We expect users to treat each other with respect. If the Service provides functionality to block or mute other users (or if we introduce such features), you are encouraged to use these tools to prevent unwanted interactions. Even if you block someone, you should still report any harassment or rule violations so we can take appropriate action. iCommunify may also, at our discretion, ban users from certain features or the entire platform if they pose a risk or have violated rules.

Club Events and Third-Party Activities

Club Events: Through iCommunify, student club leaders can organize on-campus or virtual events and invite members. Please note: while iCommunify provides the platform for event management (RSVP tracking, reminders, etc.), we are not the organizer or host of these events. The actual events are run by student clubs or organizations, which are independent from iCommunify. We do not supervise or control what happens at events, and we do not assume liability for any injuries, losses, or damages that occur to participants during club activities. Your attendance at or participation in any event is at your own risk. Always exercise good judgment and follow any codes of conduct or safety guidelines provided by the event organizers or your institution.

Third-Party Links and Content: Event descriptions or club pages may contain links to external websites (for example, a link to buy tickets, or a club's Instagram page). Job listings may link to company websites or application portals. iCommunify does not have control over, and is not responsible for, content on third-party sites or services. If you click external links, you assume the risk. Any third-party services (including payment processing for club dues, if used, or external application forms) are subject to those third parties' terms and privacy policies.

Job Board and Employers: Similarly, the job postings on iCommunify are provided by third-party employers or recruiters. iCommunify is not a party to any communications, interviews, or employment agreements between you and any employer. We do not vet every employer or job listing, though we may perform basic checks or remove postings that appear to violate our rules or are reported as fraudulent. Always exercise caution when sharing personal information with a potential employer and be wary of suspicious job offers (e.g., those requesting upfront payments—report those to us). Any disputes or issues arising from a hiring process or internship/job position are between you and the employer, and iCommunify is not liable for such issues.

Intellectual Property Rights

iCommunify's Intellectual Property: All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service (including our software, mobile app, website, databases, algorithms, features, design, trademarks, logos, and content provided by us) are and will remain the property of iCommunify Corp or its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service or included software, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of that software, except to the extent that such restrictions are expressly prohibited by law. You agree not to use iCommunify's name, logos, or branding without our prior written permission.

License to Use Service: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use our mobile application and access our website solely for your personal, non-commercial use to participate in campus clubs and related activities. You agree not to exploit the Service in any unauthorized manner. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling you to use and enjoy the benefit of the Service as provided by iCommunify, in the manner permitted by these Terms.

Feedback: If you send us any suggestions, ideas, or feedback about iCommunify, you agree that we can use, modify, and implement them without restriction or compensation to you. Any feedback you provide is entirely voluntary, and we may use it for any purpose.

Privacy

Your privacy is very important to us. Our practices regarding how we collect, use, and share your personal information are outlined in our Privacy Policy. By using iCommunify, you agree that we can collect and handle your information in accordance with the Privacy Policy. In summary, we primarily use your data to provide the Service—for example, your profile information is used to help you join clubs and apply to jobs, and your school email is used to verify student status. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We take measures to secure your data, but you understand that no online service is completely secure. For full details, please review the Privacy Policy. If you have questions about privacy or data usage, you can contact us at welcome@icommunify.com.

Termination of Use

By You: You may stop using iCommunify at any time. You also have the option to delete your account if you no longer wish to use the Service. Account deletion can be done through the app's settings (Delete Account option) or by contacting us at welcome@icommunify.com. Note that removal of the app from your device alone does not delete your account or data; you should follow the proper account deletion procedure. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to your clubs, events, and profile data on iCommunify. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (see Privacy Policy on data retention).

By iCommunify: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service (or certain features of the Service) at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we suspect you are using iCommunify in a way that could cause harm to others or to iCommunify. We also may suspend/terminate if we cease offering the Service in your region or generally. In the event of termination by us, your license to use the Service will end, and we may delete or deactivate your account and all associated data (though we will adhere to our Privacy Policy and applicable law in handling your data).

Effect of Termination: Upon any termination of these Terms (whether by you or us), the following provisions will survive: any licenses you granted to iCommunify in User Content (for content still in use), all disclaimers of warranties, all limitations of liability, and any indemnification obligations, as well as any other section that by its nature should survive. If your account is terminated or you delete it, you no longer have a right to access the Service or your content (except as otherwise provided by law regarding your data access rights). We are not liable to you for compensation, reimbursement, or damages in connection with any termination of Service or loss of content.

Disclaimers of Warranties

"As-Is" Service: iCommunify strives to provide a great platform, but we provide the Service "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, iCommunify disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your requirements or expectations, be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that any defects will be corrected.

No Guarantee of Results: Specifically, iCommunify makes no promises or guarantees about your club or job outcomes. For example, we do not warrant that you will find a suitable club or get a desired job/internship through the platform, or that any club events will be successful or safe. All decisions you make based on information or connections from the Service are at your own risk.

User Content and Third-Party Material: You understand that content posted by users or third parties (including clubs and employers) is the responsibility of those parties, not iCommunify. We make no warranty about the accuracy, truthfulness, or quality of any user-generated content or third-party links/information on the Service. While we may provide rules for user conduct and undertake efforts to enforce them, we are not responsible for any offensive, defamatory, obscene, or illegal content that you may encounter. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service or content is to stop using the Service or report the content for us to review.

No Other Warranties: No advice or information (oral or written) obtained from iCommunify or through the Service creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the disclaimer of certain warranties, so some of the above disclaimers may not apply to you. In such cases, warranties are disclaimed to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, iCommunify and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use of (or inability to use) the Service;
  • Any conduct or content of any user or third party on the Service, including offensive or illegal conduct of other users, or content (e.g., events or job posts) that may be false or misleading;
  • Any content obtained from the Service, or reliance on information or materials provided via the Service;
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content; or
  • Events outside of our reasonable control, such as network outages or cyberattacks.

Maximum Liability: In all cases, iCommunify's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the amount (if any) you paid us to use the Service in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to liability, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such jurisdictions our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

No Liability for Actions of Clubs/Employers: For avoidance of doubt, iCommunify is not liable for any agreements, transactions, or interactions you have with any club, organization, or employer through our platform. We do not assume responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage occurring at club events or in the course of any employment or internship obtained through iCommunify. Any claims arising from those activities must be directed to the responsible club or employer, not iCommunify.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless iCommunify Corp and its officers, directors, employees, and agents, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees and costs) that arise from or relate to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law or regulation; or (c) your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights of any third party (including by User Content you provide). We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you (in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense). This indemnity obligation will survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.

Changes to these Terms

iCommunify may modify or update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, regulatory, or security reasons. We will notify you of material changes by reasonable means—for example, by posting the revised Terms on our website or within the app, and/or by sending an email or in-app notification. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. Changes to the Terms will be effective when posted, unless otherwise indicated. If you continue to use the Service after updated Terms have been posted and become effective, you are indicating that you accept the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using iCommunify and, if applicable, delete your account.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service will be governed by the laws of the State of California, U.S.A., without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. If you are using the Service for purposes outside the U.S., other laws may apply to certain data privacy or consumer issues (as outlined in the Privacy Policy), but in all cases to the extent legally possible, the core contractual and intellectual property rights and obligations in these Terms are governed by California law.

Jurisdiction and Venue: You agree that any dispute or claim that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California (which covers Palo Alto), and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts. You waive any objections to venue in those courts. (If you reside outside the U.S., you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts in California as stated.) Notwithstanding this, iCommunify may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.

Informal Resolution: Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at welcome@icommunify.com with a summary of your issue. We will try to resolve the dispute through good-faith discussions. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days of your initial email, then either party may proceed with formal legal action consistent with the terms above.

(Some jurisdictions may give you the right to file claims in your local courts under local law despite the above; nothing in these Terms is meant to override mandatory rights you have by law.)

Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement: These Terms (along with the Privacy Policy and any additional guidelines or terms for specific features) constitute the entire agreement between you and iCommunify regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to your use of the Service.

No Waiver: If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms, it is not a waiver of our right to do so later. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by an authorized representative of iCommunify.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.

Assignment: You may not assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign these Terms (in whole or part), including to a successor in interest (e.g., if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets). These Terms will bind and inure to the benefit of the parties, their successors, and permitted assigns.

No Third-Party Beneficiaries: These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights; the agreement is between you and iCommunify only.

Relationship: No joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and iCommunify as a result of these Terms or your use of the Service.

Headings: Section headings in these Terms are for convenience only and have no legal or contractual effect.
